Over the past two years, the health crisis has had a major impact on our consumption patterns, and periods of confinement have altered the strategies of soft drinks, beer, wine and spirits brands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To kick off 2022, we decided to design an infographic that reflects our new graphic charter. Sophistication and premiumization<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The beverage industry is becoming increasingly sophisticated and premium. Consumers are choosing quality over quantity. Premium spirits are set to increase their share of the global market by volume to 13 % by 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">02. More ethical, alcohol-free choices<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Brands continue to create <a href=\"https:\/\/blackthornsdesign.com\/en\/blog\/inspiration\/packaging-design-seedlip-premier-spiritueux-sans-alcool\/\">alcohol-free recipes<\/a> that offer real functional benefits. In terms of ethics, people are moving towards genuine companies that support local communities, charitable events and the reduction of environmental impact. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">03. Digital and technological commitment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Technological innovations such as augmented reality are changing the way consumers interact with products and brands. <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/gdldsFMuMYA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Blockchain and NFTs<\/a> are entering the market for rare and super-premium spirits. The Metaverse is on its way to titillate the physical world within the next 5 to 10 years. For its part, <a href=\"https:\/\/blackthornsdesign.com\/en\/blog\/inspiration\/intelligence-artificielle-tout-savoir-sur-l-ia\/\">artificial intelligence set to boom<\/a> in 2023\/2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">04. Social and inclusive experiences<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Local experiences continue to grow in popularity. Spiritourism, pop-up events, festivals and interactive spaces encourage people to try out new beverage experiences. In the hotel sector, themed cocktails and food and beverage pairings can become a key element of taste discoveries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">05. Out-of-the-ordinary or simplistic recipes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/superpotion.fr\/comment-devenir-une-bonne-brasserie-tendances-bieres-recettes-ingredients-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The brewing industry is home to increasingly refined potions.<\/a> Non-standard recipes may well continue in this vein. However, we are seeing a renewed interest in simple, even ancestral recipes (e.g.: the law of purity). We predict: a growth in NABLABs, an enthusiasm for bottom fermentation, a comeback for bi\u00e8re de garde and an undeniable craze for oenobi\u00e8res, vi\u00e8res and Grape Ales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">06. An invasion of new categories<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Startups and established brands are now offering more niche products, tailored to specific consumption occasions. The expansion of new beverage categories by 2025 will make neuromarketing studies increasingly difficult to analyze. As a result, the positioning of seltzer brands will have to stand out from the crowd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">07. The evolution of traditions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Consumers have adopted new habits, linked to the restrictions and successive closures of bars and restaurants. These habits will persist in the future. As a result, we have seen the popularization of <a href=\"https:\/\/blackthornsdesign.com\/en\/projects\/uchronic\/\">canned drinks<\/a>, This applies to all types of product (beer, wine, kombucha, sake, premix, etc.).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">08. Cannabis-infused drinks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The industry's major players are watching the market with interest. Beverages infused with <a href=\"https:\/\/blackthornsdesign.com\/en\/blog\/inspiration\/packaging-design-cbd-cannabis-legal\/\">cannabis<\/a> could follow the same trajectory as <a href=\"https:\/\/blackthornsdesign.com\/en\/blog\/happy-hour\/hard-seltzers-en-france-categorie-de-boissons-alcoolisees-ou-mode-de-vie\/\">hard seltzers<\/a>. According to data from the analysis company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.headset.io\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Headset<\/a> (U.S.), sales of <a href=\"https:\/\/superpotion.fr\/boisson-au-cbd-une-alternative-naturellement-apaisante\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hemp\/CBD\/THC-based beverages<\/a> increased by 40.3 % in 2020 compared with 2019 in all states where recreational cannabis is legal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">09. The irreverence of Generation Z<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Gen-Z represents 32 % of the world's population. Perseverance, curiosity, open-mindedness and multiculturalism are among the traits of this generation. Many young people under the age of 25 claim to support <a href=\"https:\/\/blackthornsdesign.com\/en\/blog\/inspiration\/committed-branding-and-packaging-trends-for-the-future\/\">committed and militant brands<\/a> who manage to break free from established codes. The result is <a href=\"https:\/\/blackthornsdesign.com\/en\/blog\/inside-story\/nos-valeurs-et-nos-convictions\/\">a punk attitude, passionate audacity and a dose of irreverence<\/a>.
