Producing a podcast isn't that complicated. If you take France Inter's podcasts as a benchmark, you'll definitely need to allocate more budget and enlist quite a few people! But honestly, you don't need an XXL show to grow your brand, project, or reputation. You love podcasts, you listen to them, and you know it's a fantastic medium, but... you don't have your own 😞 at least, not yet! And why do you think that is? Here are some of the common concerns people have before embarking on this adventure:

  • I don't know what to talk about.«
  • I hate my voice...«
  • «That seems too complicated for me... It's easier to listen to them!»
  • I don't have time for that.«
  • Will anyone listen to my podcast?«
  • Honestly, I don't know where to start!«

I don't know what to talk about.

That was my first concern for SUPER-POTION™. But in fact, you don't really need to know what to talk about. And yes, guests are there for that! All you have to do is ask them questions and discuss their answers. As soon as you know how to talk to your clients, suppliers, or prospects, you'll know how to successfully host a podcast.

I hate my voice.

It's often something that puts people off: their own voice. In fact, if you're not used to listening to yourself (and even if you are, for that matter), it can be very unpleasant. The good news is that only you think that! You can ask anyone who knows you, and they'll tell you it's cool.

That seems too complicated to me...

Indeed, some podcasts can be very elaborate to produce. But is that really necessary to provide added value to people? No. If your content is interesting and you know how to manage a conversation on Zoom, Meet, or Skype, then you will be, thanks to this guide, able to host your own show.

I don't have time for that.

It's a question of priority, for sure, but from experience, it's worth the effort. Once you get going, recording an episode will take you about an hour, and by following this guide, optimizing and uploading it will take you maybe 2 hours at most. If you really don't have time but still want to launch your podcast, you can always outsource the time-consuming tasks and keep only the recording part, but you'll need to budget a little more for that. Otherwise, try spending less time on social media and Netflix to free up an hour or two of your time 😆.

Will anyone listen to my podcast?

Maybe, maybe not. But you know what? It’s not that important, especially if you’re new to the interview format. It’s an encouraging benefit, of course, but it’s not the most important in my opinion. Why? Because other priority benefits are to be noted: building your network, analyzing and monitoring your niche market, and generating fast and effective content for your audience. I will revisit these three benefits in this ebook.

Frankly, I don't know where to start!

Yes, it's not easy. There is so much content and tutorials online about it that one can get lost, spend a lot of time, and ultimately never make a decision. Many elements need to be considered in the creation of a podcast: the concept, software, hosting, brand identity, transcription, advertising, paid services, SEO... I know this very well because I've been through it. And as a’Communication expert, I've specifically made an effort to analyze and compare the tools, actions, and levers necessary to create quality content. Of course, it will always remain a «work in progress,» but I believe my experience in communication, combined with a diligent year of podcasting, will provide you with the most relevant information for creating your podcast in less than a week.
